Atomos AtomX CAST HDMI Multicamera Switcher Module

AtomX CAST turns a compatible Atomos Ninja monitor-recorder into a compact four-input HDMI production switcher, adding hardware input buttons, picture-in-picture, graphics overlays, multiview and USB UVC streaming without requiring a separate full-size switcher console.

CAST accepts four HDMI 1.4b inputs up to 1080p60, then uses the attached Ninja for program, preview and multiview monitoring. A dedicated HDMI program output is also available on the CAST module, while USB-C UVC output allows the switched program to feed compatible streaming software on a computer.

When paired with a supported Ninja, the system can record the switched program in Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD. Eight PNG graphics can be stored for overlays, and picture-in-picture can place any input over another in four positions and two sizes.

Compatibility

Requires a compatible Ninja host: Ninja, Ninja Ultra, Ninja V or Ninja V+. CAST connects through the AtomXpansion interface and does not provide module pass-through. It is an HD switcher; do not assume 4K switching because the HDMI inputs are limited to supported 1080p formats.
