Atomos Ninja Phone converts the HDMI output from a DSLR or mirrorless camera into a USB 3.1 video feed for an iOS 18-compatible iPhone or iPad, enabling mobile monitoring, recording and streaming through the Mavis Camera app.

The compact aluminium unit accepts full-size HDMI video up to 4K30 and sends the processed signal over USB 3.1 Gen 1. Supported iPhone Pro models can record Apple ProRes variants, while H.265 and H.264 options provide more storage-efficient workflows. HDMI audio is carried as two-channel 48kHz PCM.

Ninja Phone can be powered by an NP-F550, F750 or F970 battery and can supply power to an attached phone or accessory. Its 1/4-inch-20 mount includes locating guides for more secure rig attachment.

Compatibility

The Mavis Camera workflow requires an iPhone or iPad capable of running iOS 18 or later. ProRes recording availability depends on the iPhone model. An HDMI-equipped camera and suitable cables/mounting accessories are also required.
